Same product, less quantity
Great for those modellers who barely use 2K clearcoats as a regular basis.
If your 2K clearcoat isn't used frequently, and the hardener will harden on your shelf, only to be seen when you need it, this is the right product for you..
- Open the jars
- Pour the whole content in the smaller jars into the bigger one
- Close the lid on the big jar
- Shake
- Clearcoat
That simple
Prepare the surface
When the model has already been painted and paint is completely dry, remove any dust or imperfection on the paint. This is especially important for dark particles on light background
Mix the components
Our 2K system has to be mixed in a 2:1 ratio (clear:hardener).
Thinning is a very personal issue and will depend on your airbrushing style. Nevertheless, we recommend you to add half the amount of clear, so the total ratio will be 2:1:1
Lay down the clearcoat
Once mixed, you have 45 minutes of open time to apply the clearcoat.
Our recommendation is to apply 3 coats of clear, letting 10 minutes in between, from a first mist coar to a wetter third and final coat.
If, after this third coat, you see orange peel, insist in that area a little bit until you see it gone
Let dry and see
2K clearcoat will be really sticky after the application and any dust spec will adhere to the surface. Cover the model to avoid it.
Everythin will be dust dry after a couple hours and you will be able to handle it after 24 hours.
ATENTION: This product comes in three bottles; two of them, the hardener and the thiner, of 5 ml each and a third one containing 10 ml of the base. This kit is thought so the content of all the bottle can get into the bigger one.
No bottle comes with less amount than the one stated in the label.
